“We live in a visual world, and as such, we are obsessed with our image; how we are seen by ourselves and society is very important to most of us.”

Skin is the largest organ on our body and perhaps the most obsessed over. Our skin can be filled, the muscles underneath can be immobilized; there are lasers, LED lighting, derma stamping, derma rolling. We can be pulled, stretched, prodded, needled, and stitched in the pursuit of staying youthful and, therefore, relevant in our world today.

Not wanting to be left behind, at 40, I decided it was time for me to try Botox. My 20-year-old niece assured me it was fine. (Apparently, this practice is very popular among those in their 20s and is labeled as preventive medicine!) It was quite obviously overdue medicine for me. I booked my first appointment with nervous anticipation.

The whole process was very quick and expensive, and two weeks later, I couldn’t move my forehead. And … no more wrinkles. I booked in every 3 months like a devoted fan. I even bought new skincare products to match the new me. I thought I had found the fountain of youth.

So when my eyes started to play up, I shook it off thinking, “I’m old. Everything starts to break.” But when my vision was so blurred it was hard to differentiate items up close, and I started seeing double of everything in the distance, I went straight to the optometrist. The Botox had leaked. The specialist said to give it 6 months to dissolve, and my eyes will be just fine. It’s been more than two years, and there’s been no improvement. Now I cannot drive. I had to leave a job I’d applied for and received because my eyes could not cope with the computer work. I can’t watch a movie anymore. If I want to read, I have to find the audio version of the book. It’s hard to see my four children the way I used to – and that one hurts most of all. I had perfect vision before.

I blamed my own vanity for a long time. I also spent a long time in depression and grieving. But life goes on, especially when you’re a mom of four, so you do the best you can.

One day I was cleaning out the bathroom, and I found the long-forgotten creams I’d purchased. They had been abandoned at the bottom of the bathroom drawer after my eye appointment. I used the Annod Anti Oxidant Olive Oil Cream and went to bed. I used it for the whole week before bedtime.

And you’d never believe it. This cream was actually reducing the severity of my lines! My skin texture was smooth, and I had a “glow” about me that I haven’t had since my 2nd pregnancy. I had others attest to this change also, to be sure.

So, of course, I tried more of these creams. Next was the Annod Leave-On Collagen Mask. Another luxury product; it is apparent in everything from the packaging to the ingredients. After I’ve used this cream, I feel like I’ve been to a spa. The smell is incredible, and the results show in just a few days. It has smoothed some superficial lines and increased skin brightness. It feels more supple and soft. I love jojoba oil, and this product is my favorite!

Everything I tried was incredible! This skincare was doing a better job of maintaining my face than Botox.

Now, I’ve tried just about every skincare product out there, from the economical to the outrageously expensive. THIS SKINCARE RANGE IS THE BEST I’VE EVER USED. PERIOD.

Annod Natural Skincare creams are handmade locally in Australia – and the results!! When I put the leave-on mask on – it’s like my skin’s having a big drink of vitamin water, and it feels luxuriously nourished – all day! Your skin just glows and literally feels plumped up and ever so soft – like it’s had a facial treatment.

My dynamic wrinkles are gone, and the static wrinkles are much less obvious – my skin has never looked so good. I bought this Annod Natural Skincare range from my doctor but find it easier to purchase online.

The results speak for themselves; I don’t need to use Botox anymore anyway!

Thank you, Donna, and thank you, Annod. Your products have given me the results I wanted without the risk, pain, or cost of Botox.

(And I’ll never risk my eye health again. Ladies, please read what you’re signing before the procedure. Even though we all think it can never happen to us – it does – and I’m going back to my niece with some samples of this skincare collection as well as some further reading on the dangers of ‘skin preventative medicine.’)
